Build a small, playable browser game inspired by "BoneCrawler" (Action). Concept: NES-Style Dark Fantasy Arcade Action. Tech: use plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript (or a lightweight engine you know); keep it to a single page that loads instantly with no login or install. Controls (as seen on the original's screen): WASD to move, click to shoot/attack, tap on mobile, Esc/P to pause. Show them on a short how-to-play screen. Players: single-player. Core loop: include a visible score, progress saved in localStorage. Audio: add simple sound effects and music (start audio on the first click/tap). Steps: 1) get the core mechanic playable with placeholder shapes, 2) add win/lose conditions and restart, 3) polish feel, visuals and sound, 4) add your own twist (setting, character or one new rule). Make it your own: don't copy the original's name, art, text or code.
Remix notes (our suggestions, not the creator's)
BoneCrawler is described as NES-style dark fantasy arcade action, built on a custom engine and marked mobile-ready. Three words carry the whole design: NES-style means a tight palette, simple controls and hard-but-fair challenge, and dark fantasy sets the mood. Remix idea (our suggestion): keep the retro limits as a creative rule. Pick 4 colours, 2 buttons and one screen per room, then change the theme. A sunny seaside dungeon or a spooky library would both work inside the same limits. Prompting tip: tell your AI tool the exact limits up front, for example a 256×240 canvas scaled with crisp pixels, a 4-colour palette and two action buttons. Ask for on-screen touch buttons too, since the original targets mobile. Then add enemies one at a time, each with a single clear pattern players can learn.
